The workshop brought together researchers from different disciplines within the life sciences, with an overarching theme of immunology in a comparative perspective, primarily between fish and humans. The workshop also included perspectives from the social sciences, with a focus on Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) in life science research practices.

For the second time the Biotechnology Day was part of the Oslo Life Science Conference. What were the most important biotechnology debates in 2018? What will be important this year?

The UiO:Life Science convergence environment Epigenetics and bioethics of human embryonic development with Arne Klungland, P¨¦ter Fedorc¨¢k and Birgit Kvernflaten from UiO and Oslo University Hospital was part of the programme.

For the second time we invited the citizens of Oslo to a light event with glimpses of life sciences at several faculties at UiO and amazing ice sculptures of viruses. More than 3000 people attended the event. The ice sculptures are made by Elisabeth Kristensen and Dave Ruane.
