C-REX celebrates its ten-year anniversary this year. Here, centre director Anders Ravik Jupsk?s explains the impact – nationally and internationally – that the centre has had during this period.
Innovation and impact
Elin Lerum Boasson at ISV is a lead author for the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and has been the only non-Swedish member of the Swedish Climate Policy Council. She has often found a receptive audience for research-based climate policy advice, although the interest varies with the saliency of climate politics.
Krister Fjermestad and Torun Marie Vatne at PSI received innovation funding from the University of Oslo in January for the ADVANCE SIBS project, which has been adopted by Norwegian municipalities and is beginning to spread internationally.
J?rgen B?lstad at ISV has developed a highly accurate forecasting model, which NRK used during this year’s election night programme. The model proved to be more accurate than any other election forecast ever shown on TV in Norway.
Silje Endresen Reme is currently involved with the documentary series Harald og sytepavene. In its wake, over a hundred doctors, psychologists, and other clinicians have signed up for courses in the treatment method. If that wasn't enough, she's contributed to the implementation of new initiatives in NAV and new practices among general practitioners.
John Erik Fossum from ARENA has been in England discussing Norway’s relationship with the EU both before and after Brexit, and he has participated in an advisory group for the EU Council of Ministers.
