Here are the exam problems and a sketch of solutions

As a result of the infection situation and changes in national and regional advice and rules, the University Director has decided to temporarily allow self-declaration in the event of absence from examinations with physical attendance. The decision applies from 03.12.2021 to 01.02.2022. For exams that require physical attendance at UiO, it will not be necessary to submit documentation of the absence. This applies to all school exams in Silurveien, as well as oral and written exams that require physical attendance on campus. You must apply for valid absence in the usual way using the online form, but for exams with physical attendance, you do not need to attach documentation. The group sessions next week will be "oracle hours" where you can ask any question you have about the curriculum. You will get the best answers if you send them to me in advance, so I recommend doing so.

You are allowed to bring an approved calculator. Details on which calculators are approved can be found here (in Norwegian).

In addition, a list of formulas for STK3100/STK4100 will be provided as an appendix to the exam paper.

In general I recommend that you try to read the solutions, as we don't have enough time to go through everything in detail in the exercise sessions.

The exercise class on Thursday 14/10 12.15-13 is moved to Tuesday 12/10 9.15-10.00 in Vilhelm Bjerknes' hus, Auditorium 2

In the smartboard lecture notes, part 1, from Tuesday 5/10, for the explanation for the pattern seen in residual plots for ungrouped binary response, I wrote that mu and pi depended on the linear predictor through an identity link. It should be for example the logit. This is corrected in the notes.

Since there were so many exercises this week, I¡¯ll post the solutions now. We¡¯ll discuss some of them tomorrow. Please read the solutions before the session tomorrow if you have time.

There was an error in the list of weekly exercises for this week, it should be 5.10 instead of 5.1!

There seemed to be a majority interest in keeping the exercise sessions on Wednesdays physical, so do not convert them to digital/Zoom sessions at this time.
