The first mandatory assignment is now available. The deadline is Friday 20 March 2026 at 17.00.

The lecture presentations and exercises for the first week are now available on the semester web page, under materials, lectures and exercises. These will be presented on Tuesday.

Welcome to the Introduction to bioinformatics course (IN4030).

This course will be given in English.

The first lecture will be given on Tuesday January 20th, 2026, from 12.15 to 14.00 in seminar room 2452 Pascal. Please see the schedule for details with topics indicated for each week.

There will be exercises on Fridays, from 10.15 to 12.00 in seminar room 2423 Java, starting January 23rd. In the first hour the students are expected to work on the exercises with help from the teacher, while solutions to the problems will be presented in the second hour.

The course has two mandatory assignments. The plan is to hand out the first mandatory assignment on February 10th with a delivery deadline on March 20st. The second mandatory assignment will be handed out on March 24th with a deadline on May 8th.

The written digital exam will be held on Wednesday May 27th, with no materials allowed.
