Summer Internships at RoCS, 2026
Summer Internship at ITA, 2026
We are seeking highly motivated and talented students in astrophysics to join our teams here at the ROsseland Center for Solar physics (RoCS) this summer. During this paid summer internship, which lasts 4-6 weeks, you will work on a project supervised by an experienced researcher. It is an excellent opportunity for students who are interested in pursuing a career in astrophysics, as exemplified by Semya Amouche T?nnessen who completed two summer internships before starting his current Ph.D. here at ITA.
There are three projects available. The exact period of the project will be agreed upon with the supervisor if you are selected. These summer internships are intended for students that are either already master's students at RoCS, or are finishing their Bachelor's in Physics and Astronomy at UiO this summer and/or will apply for a master’s at RoCS.
To apply, please submit the following:
? Transcript (no: karakterutskrift) from higher education.
? Cover letter (max 1 page) explaining
? Your motivation and why you should be selected.
? Prioritized list of projects that you are interested in.
? Your availability this summer.
If “you are a master’s student at RoCS”: Write “I am currently a master's student at RoCS”
Else: Screenshot from the master application portal, that you have a master's at ITA (either Astronomy or CS Astrophysics) as your top choice.
The application should be submitted as a single email to coordinator Boris Gudiksen (boris@astro.uio.no). The application deadline is 23:59 on Sunday, April 26.
Regards,
RoCS
