Abstract
This presentation will examine the links between bodies as culturally coded, teaching as culturally situated, and mathematics as embodied. I will present a conceptual framework to help situate embodied pedagogy within teacher preparation. I will briefly touch upon Indian philosophical traditions, as they do not draw a strict distinction or hierarchy between the mind and body, and then proceed to explore how mathematics teaching can engage with the body.
