Basis for the diploma?
As you approach the end of your studies, the faculty will check whether you meet the requirements for issuing of a diploma. Your diploma is based on completion of the courses in your education plan.
In most bachelor's programmes and the master's programme in Law, you will receive an e-mail during the semester in which you are expected to complete your degree. You will receive the e-mail in March/April for spring completion and October/November for autumn completion. The e-mail will stipulate a deadline for amending your education plan.
Most master's programmes and other programmes with a fixed structure do not send a separate e-mail instructing you to check your education plan. You will achieve your degree in the semester in which you complete your master's thesis or the final course of the degree.
For one-year programmes, you will receive a diploma once you have completed the final course of the programme.
Digital diplomas
You will receive a digital diploma. You will find the digital diploma as a digitally signed pdf in the document archive in Studentweb. You can also share it with others via the Diploma Registry. You log in to Studentweb or the Diploma Registry with ID-porten.?
Diploma on paper and address
If you have received a digital diploma, but need to present a diploma on paper, you can order a paper diploma. Contact?the information centre at your faculty?to order this. Do not order a paper diploma before the need arises.
You can get a paper diploma if you do not have a Norwegian national identity number or D number. and thus can not log in to Studentweb or the Diploma Registry with ID-porten. You can also get a paper diploma if you need to send a copy of the diploma to foreign educational institutions or employers who do not accept digital diplomas.
Your diploma will be sent to your semester address. Remember to change your address if you move at the end of your studies.?You update your address in Studentweb yourself.
Diploma supplement
When you receive a diploma for a degree, you will also be issued an English-language diploma supplement. If you receive a digital diploma, you will also receive a digital diploma supplement.?
The diploma supplement follows a European standard and includes a description of the Norwegian educational system.
Have we forgotten you?
Due to the complexity of a number of programmes, we are not always able to identify people who meet the requirements for a degree. If this applies to you, you can order a diploma.
Improved grades
If you have improved results that are part of a degree, you can at most study programmes ask for a new digital diploma. Read more about resitting an examination.?
If you pass the same examination several times, the best result will be listed on your diploma.
If you have improved a grade after the degree was registered as completed, this will be noted on your diploma.
