Members can see your custom status (work location) anywhere they can see your name in direct chats and channels. Your work location is also shown in the Members panel for a channel:

How to Set Custom Status
- Select your profile picture, then select Set a custom status.
- Write in one of the custom statuses from the list above and choose its emoji icon. Mattermost will remember your recently used custom statuses, and let you choose them from a Recent list.
- Specify when to clear your custom status.
- Select Set Status.
Who is in the office?
Do you need to talk to all members of a channel or a direct chat? Are they in the office, so you could book a meeting room or should you do a video call?
- Navigate to the channel or direct chat you want to view members of.
- Click on the Members icon in the header of the channel or the chat.
- A Members panel opens on the right side in Mattermost, showing all members alphabetically with their custom statuses.
