Funding
Up to 1) NOK 50,000 + 2) NOK 200,000, see description below.
Description
- Life science researchers at UiO can apply for up to NOK 50,000 to, for example, extend temporary positions, organize seminars, or obtain teaching relief in order to prepare and submit a FRIPRO application from UiO in 2026.
- Applications that are not funded by the Research Council of Norway (NFR) but receive a score of at least 6.0 in the old grading scale (threshold within the new grading scale will be defined in May 2026) will be granted up to NOK 200,000 to further develop the project. The support can be used for positions, acquisitions or other activities. All funding must be fully spent by the end of 2027.
This is a one-time call, and funding will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis until the NOK 800,000 earmarked for application writing and the NOK 800,000 for further development have been spent. Updated figures showing the remaining amounts will be available at the bottom of this page.
Requirements
Applicants must be employed at UiO and qualified to apply for FRIPRO with UiO as the project owner, and the application must have a life science theme, see definition. Get in touch if you are in doubt as to whether the topic can be considered as life science. If in doubt, also check with your own department whether you are qualified to apply for FRIPRO or not.
Application process
This time, there is no preceding pre-submission process.
For category 1):
After the application has been submitted, send an e-mail to info@lifescience.uio.no with:
- Confirmation of submitted application
- Title of application and name of applicant
- A simple overview of costs (up to NOK 50,000) in connection with application
- An account at your unit (koststed and delprosjekt) to which the funds should be transferred
For category 2)?
If the application is not granted by the NFR but receives a score of at least 6.0, documentation of this must be submitted.
The use of categpry 2) must be reported to UiO:Life Science in January 2028 with a brief overview of how the funds were used.
