We have new safety representatives at the department. Do you know who your safety representative is and what the safety representative can help you with?

The Research Council of Norway (NFR) has funded two projects from the Department. The projects are EcoForest and #AgriDeer. Head of EcoForest is H?vard Kauserud, and head of #AgriDeer is Atle Mysterud.

Yesterday, CBA leader Dag O. Hessen won two awards in the major literature award, Brageprisen. 

The Research Council has announced that the innovation award goes to founder and scientific director Agnete Fredriksen in Vaccibody.

The student team representing the University of Oslo at the iGEM annual synthetic biology competition, has presented their project ¡°Sal. coli¡±. It is the only team from Norway this year, consisting of: Alexander Refsnes-Andrassy, Jonas Aouay Gr?nbakken and Martin Eide.

UiO:Life Science funds 14 convergence environments that address major challenges within life sciences related to health, environment and sustainable growth. A new application round has started. Researchers from all units at UiO are welcome to participate.

Kjetil Lysne Voje has been awarded 1.5 million Euros in research grants from the European Research Council (ERC). He will take a closer look at how changes in the evolution of species occur over time.

Just before the summer, Section for Meteorology and Oceanography, Dept. of Geosciences moved from temporary premises at Ullev?l Stadium to the Blindern campus. Now they are finally in place in nice newly renovated premises on the 2nd floor of Kristine Bonnevies hus.

KURT and iEarth hosted a digital seminar about teaching

The Nordic network of imaging platforms, Bridging Nordic Microscopy Infrastructures BNMI, has been awarded NOK 2.5 million from NordForsk. The Norwegian coordinating node in this network is NorMIC Oslo, an infrastructure at the Department of Biosciences, UiO.

As there were no counter-candidates the election was canceled. Solveig Kristensen is the new Dean and Bj?rn Jamtveit the new Vice Dean from 1 January 2021. They have appointed Knut M?rken as Vice Dean for Education.
