About the artist

He plays morin khuur (the horsehead fiddle) and sings kh??mii, Mongolian throat singing. Many have discovered him digitally in recent years – not least through his interpretation of Chinggis Khaanii Magtaal – but something different happens in the room. The sound is physical. You hear the overtones move. You feel the wood of the fiddle.

Batzorig has written music for Marco Polo and performed on stages all over the world. Now we get to hear him the way the music is truly meant to be experienced: up close, without a filter.

On stage, he weaves together:

  • Mongolian praise songs (magtaal) and folk tunes
  • His own material
  • Morin khuur, tovshuur, tsuur and jaw harp
  • Throat singing and singing voice side by side
