About the artist

Etuk Ubong is one of Nigeria’s most exciting musical voices right now. As a trumpeter, composer and bandleader, Ubong has developed his own expression, which he himself calls Earth Music.

The music is a powerful and uncompromising blend of afrobeat, highlife and jazz, woven together with the ritual drum tradition Ekombi. The result is intense and energetic, yet deeply spiritual. The compositions reflect Ubong’s background, philosophy and strong belief in community, peace and love for humanity.
