Payment dates
- Salaries are paid on the 12th of each month. If this date falls on a weekend or public holiday, the salary is paid on the last working day before the 12th. For specific payment dates see the payroll schedule.
- The paid salary pertains to the entire calendar month. This means that you receive 50% of your monthly salary in arrears and 50% in advance.
- Holiday pay is paid in June.
- Overtime is paid out with the first regular payroll after the manager has approved the hours.
- Payments to foreign bank accounts with IBAN and SWIFT/BIC details take 2–3 days longer than payments within Norway. Payments to the United States and other countries outside Europe may take significantly longer.
Where is your pay slip?
- You find your payslips in the section Salary?in the self-service portal, see?user guide for pay slips (dfo.no).
- Pay slips are available in the self-service?portal as of the 12th of each month, irrespective of when the salary has been transferred to your account. Therefore, you might receive your salary but have to wait a few days before you can check its calculation basis on your pay slip. In these instances, we ask you for a little bit of patience.
- If you need copies of pay slips prior to May 2021 or after your formal employment at UiO has ceased, you can order these at?lonn-hjelp@admin.uio.no.

- The pay slip shows the calculation basis of the salary you have been paid.
- The pay slip includes many figures and terms, see an example pay slip with explanations?(df?).
- The pay slip also shows how much tax is deducted from your salary. Read more about tax deduction.
