Join us for Male Health Day, an event where Norway’s leading researchers shed light on men’s lives at the intersection of family, work, health, and cognition. Through short presentations, each researcher will introduce their topic, with an emphasis on the life period of life characterized by family transitions and work experiences.

The event is based on the fact that men, to a greater extent than women, die prematurely, and that much of this excess mortality can be prevented. A better understanding of men’s health and cognition is crucial – both for gender equality and for strengthening men’s contribution to family, working life, and society in an ageing population.

Based on the HOMME project at the Department of Psychology at UiO, the event explores how changes in men’s family and working lives affect health and cognition throughout adulthood, across generations and societies. The programme offers a wide range of topics, from mental health, loneliness, and fertility, to biological ageing, working life, and health communication.
