The Research Council of Norway has granted NOK 100 million to establish the Norwegian Maritime AI Centre, the world’s first national research centre dedicated to applied AI in the maritime sector. dScience proudly hosted the FENS Regional Meeting in June 2025 (FRM2025), Europe’s largest regional neuroscience conference. From June 16 to 19, more than 1,050 researchers, students, and professionals from across Europe and beyond gathered at the University of Oslo’s Blindern campus for four full days of scientific exchange and collaboration.
The Research Council of Norway announced the research environments selected to receive national research centre status for artificial intelligence (AI) at a press conference on 11 June 2025. Among those chosen is TRUST – The Norwegian Centre for Trustworthy AI – which will now receive substantial support to establish a national research centre, with its core located in Oslo Science City. TRUST will be led by the University of Oslo (UiO), SINTEF, and the Norwegian Computing Center (NR).

On January 17, dScience hosted a full day of engaging sessions as part of WEEK?—Casting Light on Careers, designed to inspire and equip early career researchers. Held in the dScience lounge, this event brought together PhD candidates, postdocs, and researchers for valuable insights into career development.
The University of Oslo (UiO) is now accepting applications for the second call of DSTrain postdoctoral fellowships. Up to 18 positions are available for researchers in computational and natural sciences. The fellowships start in autumn 2025.
